The 138th Canton Fair
Stepping into Hall D of the luggage exhibition area, Quanzhou Maohuang's 120㎡ booth is enveloped in a striking combination of mint green and dark blue, with the "MAKE LIFE LIGHT" light strip on the wall particularly eye-catching. The outdoor vests and bags are just the "showcase"; the real crowd gathers on the right side at the three rows of open hooks-where their main outdoor bags, student backpacks, and lunch bags for this year are displayed.
The outdoor bag, named "Light Cloud," boasts a 32L capacity and weighs only 580g. Laser-cut MOLLE holes on the front allow for hanging trekking poles or embedding action camera mounts. The 3D breathable back panel and detachable waist belt ensure hikers feel a refreshing breeze even in the 35°C Guangzhou exhibition space. A French buyer tried it on and did five squats in a row, laughing as he told his colleague, "It's lighter than my water bottle."
The student backpack, nicknamed "Small Square Shell," prioritizes safety in its details: reflective strips cover the shoulder straps and side pockets, providing visibility at night for at least 120 meters; the interior features a 180° fully opening design, clearly displaying compartments for a 14-inch laptop and A4 notebooks; and the widened silicone zipper pulls allow for easy unzipping even with gloves. The Thai distributor particularly appreciated the hidden name tag, noting that it "reduces the rate of lost bags and increases repeat purchases by parents," and immediately ordered 8,000 bags, requesting the addition of local cartoon characters.
The lunch bag, nicknamed "Four Seasons Can," uses food-grade aluminum foil and a 6mm EPE insulation layer, claiming to provide 4 hours of dual-temperature protection. Staff placed a 55℃ hot water bottle inside, and a temperature gun projected the temperature onto the screen in real time-after 4 hours, it still showed 42℃. Middle Eastern customers who were observing immediately increased their orders from 3,000 to 5,000 bags, emphasizing the importance of insulation for carrying meals during Ramadan.
The long table at the booth became a makeshift negotiation area, with customers stopping to discuss orders. Maohuang's foreign trade manager arranged the price quotes, fabrics, and test reports in a "three rows, two columns" format: cost on the left, standards on the right, and delivery date in the middle. This "transparent formula" halved the time spent negotiating. On the opening day alone, they received 15,000 intended orders for outdoor bags, 23,000 for student backpacks, and 11,000 for lunch bags, covering the EU, ASEAN, and South America, with a total estimated value of US$4.2 million.
From OEM to brand, Maohuang used its three trump cards-lightweight design, functionality, and safety-to continue writing a new chapter in the story of Quanzhou bags at the 138th Canton Fair. As customers carried "Qingyun" out of the exhibition hall, their silhouettes became the best mobile advertisements, taking "Quanzhou Intelligent Manufacturing" to the global market for the next stage.
