Types of pencil cases

Pencil cases may seem small, but they are "mobile stationery stores" for studying and working. Based on their opening method and capacity, they can be categorized into four main types: hard-shell, soft-sided, folding, and three-dimensional. Understanding their structural characteristics allows for the selection of the right type and improves efficiency.

**I. Hard-shell Type:** Made of ABS or PP in one piece, these are pressure-resistant and drop-resistant. They open to 180° and feature internal mesh pockets and elastic channels. Suitable for protecting mechanical pencils and technical pens, they are commonly used in art and design settings.

**II. Soft-sided Type:** Made of canvas, Oxford cloth, or PU leather, these are lightweight and can be rolled up. The zipper is either circular or L-shaped. A 20cm length can hold 15 regular ballpoint pens. An external pocket can hold erasers and staples. Affordable, this is the most widely used style among students.

**III. Folding Type:** Unfolds into a strip or cross shape with multiple compartments. When rolled up, it is secured with a snap closure. Its size is only about the size of an eyeglass case. When unfolded, all pen nibs face outwards, allowing for easy color identification, making it suitable for exams and sketching sessions where frequent pen number switching is required.

IV. Three-Dimensional Type

The base is widened into a rectangular cross-section, increasing the capacity to 0.8L. It can stand upright on a desk as a "mini pen holder." The side walls often feature magnetic lids or elastic cords, allowing for one-handed opening and closing, facilitating quick access during meeting notes.

Hard-shell pen protection, lightweight soft pouches, folding for vibrant colors, and three-dimensional quick access-each type of pencil case has its own specialty. First, determine the usage scenario and the number of stationery items, then choose the type that best suits the structural features, ensuring that this small pencil case can conveniently "deliver" the most handy pen at crucial moments.
