About Qingming Festival Holiday
Our company will have a 3-day Qingming Festival holiday from April 4 to 6, 2024.
Qingming Festival is not only a natural solar term, but also a major traditional festival in China. It usually falls between April 4th and 6th each year. The customs of this festival include tomb sweeping and ancestor worship, outings, etc. The main purpose of this festival is to commemorate ancestors and mourn the passing of loved ones. The origin of Qingming Festival is very ancient, dating back to the Zhou Dynasty, with a history of over 2500 years. The earliest records show that Qingming Festival was originally only used as a solar term to guide agricultural activities. Later, it gradually combined with traditional customs of ancestor worship, forming a unique cultural connotation.
The Qingming Festival and the Cold Food Festival are closely related, with the latter originating from the day before the establishment of Duke Wen of Jin in commemoration of Jie Zitui during the Spring and Autumn period. Over time, the Qingming Festival and the Cold Food Festival gradually merged to form the current Qingming Festival. Qingming Festival is not only a tradition of the Han Chinese, but also has influenced many ethnic groups in China. Although customs vary in different regions, tomb sweeping, ancestor worship, and outings are common themes.
In addition, during the Qingming Festival, there are many colorful customs and activities, such as planting trees, flying kites, swinging on swings, eating youth balls, etc. These activities not only enrich the festival content, but also reflect people's respect for nature and love for life. With the passage of time, the cultural connotations and customs of Qingming Festival have also been constantly developing and changing, but the two main themes of ancestor worship and outings have remained unchanged, demonstrating the Chinese nation's admiration for ancestors and love for nature.
